Two quotations can show the same product name and describe different purchases. One may cover a pair, another a single piece. One may include freight, another may stop at the supplier's dispatch point.
Compare Black Friday carbon fiber quotes on an identical specification, sales unit, supplied contents, delivery scope and written terms. Evaluate the payable total and the business risk before giving weight to a headline discount. CCF promotional pricing is available by inquiry for your selected order.
Use the same request sheet for each supplier. When a line differs, identify the difference before negotiating the number.

Normalize the product first
Record the exact vehicle application and product reference. Compare the construction and finish you requested, rather than assuming “carbon fiber” describes one identical specification. Ask for the piece count, included accessories and any parts that must be reused.
Where one quote names an overlay and another a replacement, stop the direct price comparison. The overlay versus replacement guide explains why their installation scopes can differ. The sales-unit guide helps with pieces, pairs and multi-part sets.
Use a comparison sheet with an unknown column
| Compare | Record for each offer | If the answer is missing |
|---|---|---|
| Product identity | Reference, version and application | Request exact identification |
| Construction and finish | Agreed specification | Keep the line unapproved |
| Sales unit and contents | Piece, pair or set; accessories | Ask for the contents list |
| Promotional price | Currency, quantity basis and validity | Do not apply a percentage yourself |
| Delivery scope | Freight, destination and named exclusions | Request a comparable scope |
| Schedule and support | Order stages and agreed issue procedure | Resolve before promising your customer |
Use “not confirmed” instead of filling a blank with a favorable assumption. An incomplete quote is not necessarily a bad supplier; it is an unfinished buying decision.
Compare the cost you actually bear
Your internal estimate may include the parts subtotal, freight and insurance where applicable, destination charges, brokerage, duties, payment or exchange costs, and inland delivery. Which items apply depends on the destination and agreed shipping terms. Confirm tax treatment and import charges with the relevant carrier, broker or adviser rather than using a generic duty rate.
Do not count an included charge twice. Equally, do not treat a delivered quote and an ex-dispatch price as if their totals cover the same work.
Illustrative example, not CCF pricing: Offer A has a $900 parts subtotal, $180 freight and $60 of other charges within the defined comparison scope: $1,140. Offer B has a $950 parts subtotal, $100 freight and the same $60 allowance: $1,110. If the products and all other terms are genuinely equivalent, the higher parts price produces a $30 lower total within that scope. This example excludes destination-specific amounts not listed and is not a complete import-cost calculation.
Evaluate what happens when a line is wrong
A useful support process identifies what evidence is required, how a discrepancy is reviewed and which remedies depend on the order terms. Do not assume a promotional purchase includes unrestricted returns, immediate replacement or a particular warranty period.
For new products, agree on sample review and approval scope before a bulk order. Use the remote sample review checklist and damage evidence guide to structure those questions.
If a supplier offers a different version to improve the price or timing, record the change explicitly. A substituted part cannot be scored as a saving until you know it is acceptable for the customer job.
Give time a separate score
A lower-cost order that misses a committed installation may be unsuitable for that job. Compare schedule confidence separately from price. The Black Friday delivery planning guide explains the milestones to request.
For repeat inventory without an immediate customer deadline, your weighting may differ. Use your actual business requirement rather than one universal “cheapest wins” rule.
Record equivalence before scoring the price
Use this record as a buyer working tool. Examples and sample labels below are illustrative, not CCF inspection, order or test records.
| Record | Example or required entry |
|---|---|
| Comparable | Same reference or an explicitly accepted equivalent, sales unit and supplied scope. |
| Not yet comparable | One quote omits packing, delivery scope, contents or another material item. |
| Rejected comparison | A different product type is being presented as a direct saving without customer approval. |
Only total genuinely comparable offers. Keep this method connected to the evergreen quote-comparison guide; the campaign page should remain the single promotional starting point.
Quote-comparison questions
Is the largest advertised discount the best deal?
Not necessarily. The reference price, eligible quantity, included scope and final payable amount may differ. Compare the order you will receive.
Should I send a competitor's confidential quotation?
You can request a comparable CCF offer using your own specification and cost categories. There is no need to share another supplier's confidential documents.
Can I compare quotes in different currencies?
Use a consistent exchange-rate assumption and account for actual payment costs. Recheck it before payment; this worksheet does not lock a currency rate.
