BMW G87 M2 Carbon Fiber Side Skirts: What Shops Should Check Before Ordering

A side-view image can sell the appearance of a BMW M2 upgrade. Your workshop still needs to identify how the selected side skirt meets the car, what is supplied for each side and whether the customer expects an extension or a replacement component.

For G87 M2 carbon fiber side skirt fitment, match the exact product to the existing sill assembly, compare both end interfaces and confirm the mounting method and sales unit before quoting. “G87 side skirt” is a product category, not a complete installation specification.

Clarify what the customer is buying

Ask whether the requested item adds a carbon extension beneath existing bodywork or replaces an existing component. Do not infer this from a style name. Request a rear or underside photograph and a written explanation of what stays on the vehicle.

A photograph may show two long pieces, extra end sections and a styled vehicle together. That does not prove all pictured items belong to the same quoted set. Record the product reference for every separately supplied piece.

Compare the interfaces your customer cannot see

Before comparing prices, put the candidate products into a simple worksheet.

CheckInformation to obtainWhy it affects the shop
Left and right piecesIncluded quantity and handednessAvoids ordering only one side
Front and rear endsClose-ups against the intended bodyworkHelps identify a different version
UndersideFlange, tabs and attachment locationsEstablishes what installation information is needed
Existing sillOriginal or modified assemblyA chassis label cannot describe previous modifications
HardwareIncluded, reused and separately sourced itemsPrevents an incomplete job quotation
ProjectionMeasurement from defined reference pointsHelps discuss customer use and access

Do not use a G80/G82 side skirt record as proof for G87. The M3/M4 side skirt guide explains why body-specific identification matters, but each G87 product still needs its own confirmation.

Ask for evidence tied to the selected version

Useful trial-fit material names the product and identifies the vehicle configuration. It shows the front end, rear end and attachment area, rather than only a distant beauty shot. If you receive photos of an installed piece, ask whether it is the same version currently supplied.

An installed photograph alone does not show whether additional drilling, trimming or nonstandard hardware was used. Ask about those changes before quoting labor. Product-specific instructions must determine attachment details; this buying guide does not provide drilling locations or tightening values.

Quote the whole workshop job

Separate the part price from installation labor, required consumables and any removal of existing aftermarket trim. If mounting information is outstanding, mark the labor estimate provisional instead of hiding that uncertainty inside a fixed package price.

When the side skirts are part of a larger order, use the G87 package quotation guide. Give each part its own product reference and confirmation status. A matching visual style does not establish that every item in a package is ready to install.

Buyer workflow: Identify car, then Check interfaces, then Confirm contents, then Quote the job.

Keep these G87 side-skirt references separate

The supplied CCF product-material inventory contains two differently named G87 side-skirt folders. These are selection references, not verified factory SKUs or evidence of interchangeability.

RecordExample or required entry
R44-style referenceListed in the supplied material set as BMW M2 G87 dry carbon fiber R44 side skirts.
Second side-skirt referenceListed separately as BMW M2 G87 dry carbon fiber side skirt.
What remains to establishExact factory SKU, supplied piece count, mounting structure, supported vehicle configuration and product-specific installation information.

When requesting a quote, attach the chosen reference image instead of writing only “G87 side skirts.” Ask the seller to return the same image with the quoted reference. The folder wording “dry carbon” is a catalog label; confirm construction separately. Neither folder name alone proves a trial fit.

Questions buyers ask

Are side skirts always sold as a pair? Do not assume so. Confirm the SKU's sales unit, physical piece count and any separate end components on the quotation.

Does a familiar style name prove fitment? No. It may describe appearance without identifying the exact structure, mounting system or supplied version.
