Compare a carbon fiber parts warranty by what it covers, when coverage starts and which costs the remedy includes—not by the number of months alone. For a dealer or tuning shop, a replacement panel can still leave an unpaid removal, refitting or customer-service bill. Put those questions into the quotation discussion before promising support to your own buyer.

Start with the costs your business could carry
Separate the product from the work surrounding it. Your customer’s complaint may involve the panel, installation labor, protective film, transport or a missed appointment. A supplier’s product warranty does not automatically reimburse every related expense. Ask for explicit answers rather than treating silence as acceptance.
Use one order reference for the proposed product and the applicable policy. Record whether it is a catalog item, a custom part or a dropship order. Also identify the construction actually quoted; a policy can distinguish between product types. A generic catalog description is not enough to determine coverage.
Use this warranty comparison sheet
| Question | Record before ordering | Business implication |
|---|---|---|
| What is covered? | Manufacturing defects, finish issues and any specific exclusions | A finish complaint may need a different assessment from physical damage |
| When does it start? | Delivery, invoice or installation date, as stated | Stock held before resale may already be within the coverage period |
| What must be reported promptly? | Arrival defects and transport damage deadlines | Your receiving team needs a separate inspection timetable |
| What is the remedy? | Review process, replacement, repair or refund provisions | Do not promise a particular outcome before approval |
| Who pays which costs? | Product, return freight, replacement freight and labor | The customer-facing offer should not assume reimbursement |
| What evidence is required? | Order identity, photos, installation record and retained packaging | Missing records can prevent a useful review |
Distinguish coverage from reporting deadlines
A deadline for reporting visible arrival damage is not necessarily the length of the product warranty. Record both. Have receiving staff inspect the shipment when it arrives, while sales staff explain the applicable longer-term coverage accurately. Do not wait until a stocked part is sold before checking its condition.
As checked on October 11, 2026, CCF’s published policy states a one-year manufacturing-defect warranty for dry carbon parts starting on delivery. It asks buyers to report visible manufacturing defects within 14 days and visible transit damage within seven days. Wet carbon coverage depends on separately agreed sales terms. Consult the current policy and the terms for your order; this guide does not extend or replace them.
Ask about fitment and modification separately
A part that will not seat correctly needs an application review before anyone decides why. Check the agreed vehicle configuration, supplied version and relevant modifications. Preserve the part’s condition and document the issue. Trimming, drilling or applying adhesive can change both the evidence and the available resolution.
Before approving an order, ask who should receive a fitment report and what that report should include. A clear escalation route is more useful to your installer than a general assurance that the supplier will “take care of it”.
Close the gap between your promise and your supplier’s terms
Imagine a shop sells a painted and installed package, but the upstream offer addresses only the carbon part. If the shop promises free repainting and repeat installation without confirming cost responsibility, it has created its own exposure. This is an illustrative business scenario, not a CCF claim record.
Write down three outcomes for your sales team: what the supplier has confirmed, what your shop independently offers and what still requires assessment. Any applicable obligations to your customer must be considered separately from your B2B supplier agreement. Do not turn this comparison sheet into an unreviewed consumer warranty.
Keep an order-level evidence folder
- Save the accepted quote, product reference and policy version supplied with the order.
- Retain arrival photographs and the date the delivery was inspected.
- Record installation or resale details without assuming that resale restarts coverage.
- Keep issue correspondence and any approved remedy under the same reference.
For a confirmed covered manufacturing defect, CCF’s published policy describes replacement or refund of the affected goods following review, and applicable replacement shipping when a covered replacement is confirmed. Do not infer an allowance for labor, film or other costs that has not been agreed.
CCF policy fields to enter in your comparison
Checked against the published CCF Return & Refund Policy on October 12, 2026. Recheck the current policy and the specific order terms before making a customer promise.
| Record | Example or required entry |
|---|---|
| Dry-carbon manufacturing defects | Published warranty period: one year from delivery. |
| Visible manufacturing defects at arrival | Report within 14 days; the policy states this does not shorten the covered one-year dry-carbon warranty. |
| Wet-carbon parts | No warranty unless otherwise agreed in the specific sales terms. |
| Visible transit damage | Preserve the package and evidence; published notification period is seven days from delivery. |
These entries are a policy summary, not a promise to reimburse every expense. Use the linked current policy for coverage, exclusions, review and remedy scope; do not confuse the arrival-reporting window with the warranty period.

Buyer questions
Is a longer warranty always better?
No. Compare the covered events, exclusions, starting point and remedy scope. A period on its own does not describe the support you can offer.
Should I return a disputed part immediately?
Follow the supplier’s confirmed return instructions. CCF asks customers to contact it before returning or disposing of goods.
What should I send before a wholesale purchase?
Send the exact product list, construction, quantities and intended sales model. Ask which current terms apply and clarify any cost responsibility your customer offer relies on.
